BAMBURGH WIN FINAL FRIENDLY
Bamburgh CCC v Benwell Hill XI

BAMBURGH played their final friendly fixture of the season at the Castle Green on Sunday and defeated Benwell Hill by 40 runs.
Batting first, the home side were all out for 170. Main contributors were David Wright with 51, Stephen Robinson with 36 and 20 from Robert Gill, including the shot-of-the-day straight six to the pavilion steps.
In reply, Benwell Hill never recovered from a slow start, mainly due to the frugal bowling of the evergreen pairing of openers Jon Young and Barry Evans.
